A five-day plan for the last week before break.

No time to plan? Use this as-is, or swap days around. Each day mixes one quiet activity, one active one and a literacy link, and every resource is free.

  1. Day 1

    Letters & Launch

Introduce the week with a friendly-letter lesson. Students draft a letter to Santa on paper, then colour a page while you check drafts.

  2. Day 2

    Read-Aloud & Reindeer Research

Read a story together, then have small groups research one reindeer and share a fact with the class.

  3. Day 3

    Puzzles & Vocabulary

Word-work day. Run the word search and crossword as centres, with trivia as a whole-class finisher.

  4. Day 4

    Around the World

Compare how 12 countries celebrate, then make cards for the school office, custodians or a care home.

  5. Day 5

    Party Day

Bingo, songs and a Santa-tracker countdown for the last afternoon before break.

Teachers FAQ

Are these resources really free?

Yes. The colouring pages, games, printable templates and stories on Write to Santa are free to use in your classroom.

Do I need to create an account?

No account is needed to print the colouring pages or templates, or to play the games with your students. A few extras, such as the full colouring book and storybook downloads, ask for an email address.

What grade levels are the activities best for?

Most activities suit Pre-K through Grade 6 (about ages 4โ€“12). Memory Match is aimed at ages 4โ€“8, Word Search and Mad Libs at ages 6 and up, Trivia at ages 6โ€“12, and the Crossword at ages 8 and up. Each game page lists its age range.

Are these templates editable?

The printable templates are ready-to-print PDFs, so they are not editable. Students fill them in by hand, and you can personalize the Nice List certificate online before you print it.

Can I print these for my whole class?

Yes. Print the colouring pages, cards and templates as many times as you need for your own classroom. Please link to the page rather than re-posting the files on another website.

Can I use these resources for school events or holiday parties?

Yes. Christmas Bingo, the games, the colouring pages and the Santa tracker countdown work well for class parties and last-day-before-break activities. Choose the activities that fit your class and school policy; nothing on the site requires students to take part in a religious observance.

How often are new resources added?

We refresh the collection ahead of each Christmas season and add new activities as they are ready. Check back in November and December for the latest.

Do you have suggestions for incorporating these into lessons?

Yes. See the five-day plan on this page for the last week before break. For literacy, students can draft a friendly letter to Santa on paper. The online letter form asks for a parent or guardian email, so send the draft home for a parent to submit.
