Every family has a Christmas Eve cookie, and this is the one kids ask to make by name. Soft in the middle, barely golden on the edges, and loaded with chocolate chips — these are the ones that disappear off the plate before Santa ever gets a chance. Leave a few out just in case.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- A pinch of Christmas magic
How to make it

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.

In a large bowl, beat butter and both sugars until creamy.

Beat in eggs and vanilla extract.

Gradually blend in flour mixture.

Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.

Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes before removing.
